The Eclipse MicroPen Elite is an advanced medical grade automated microneedling device used to improve the appearance of acne scars, uneven texture, and fine and deepened lines and wrinkles. The MicroPen® Elite is the latest innovation in medical aesthetics and one of few Health Canada approved devices.
The Eclipse MicroPen Elite uses single-use sterile cartridges containing 12 stainless steel 32 gauge needles to penetrate the top layer of skin to improve the overall appearance. This advanced device allows the practitioner to select the exact depth for each patient’s skin type and condition, using robotic precision to go as deep as 2.0mm at 0.1mm increments.
We use a topical anaesthetic cream prior to treatment, so you will be extremely comfortable throughout the procedure. Some patients describe the sensation as similar to microdermabrasion, but with more of a kick to it.
You will begin to see results with your first treatment, but additional treatments may be needed to improve results. On average we recommend 2-3 treatments for correction of your concern, and then annual maintenance.
Downtime after Eclipse MicroPen procedures is minimal. Typically there is little to no downtime associated with this treatment. Some patients will notice redness and mild swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, for 24-48 hours post treatment.
The MicroPen® Elite’s patented cartridge design prevents the entrance of fluids into the device which, along with the MicroSleeve, routine cleaning, and single-use sterile cartridges, help to reduce the risk of cross-contamination of the unit between uses.
