Microneedling

Microneedling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, is an innovative skin rejuvenation procedure that uses a special device to create micro-punctures or micro-channels in the dermal tissue to stimulate accelerated collagen production and skin repair.

Microneedling

What does Microneedling treat?

Collagen is a natural part of your body’s wound healing response, so when the micro-channels are created, there is a sudden rush of collagen and elastin, and your body will discard and replace damaged cells. This creates faster skin cell turnover for healthier, younger, firmer, and more rejuvenated skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

We use a topical anaesthetic cream prior to treatment, so you will be extremely comfortable throughout the procedure. Some patients describe the sensation as similar to microdermabrasion, but with more of a kick to it.

Downtime after microneedling procedures is minimal. Typically there is little to no downtime associated with this treatment. Some patients will notice redness and mild swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, for 24-48 hours post treatment.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that works by creating thousands of tiny injuries to the skin in order to stimulate wound healing. This results in a breakdown of old, hardened, or otherwise damaged tissue and cells, and kicks your body into repair mode.

Micro needling causes an accelerated production of fibroblasts, growth factors, collagen and elastin to repair and rejuvenate the skin.

Because microneedling doesn’t utilize light or heat, this treatment is safe for all skin types and conditions. If you have certain autoimmune disorders, you may not be a candidate as your wound healing response may be compromised.
